Prediabetes is a condition in which a person’s blood glucose levels are higher than normal, without a formal diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes. Prediabetes doesn’t have to turn into diabetes.
Your blood sugar (glucose) level can be determined by a finger stick or home glucometer. Everyone’s glucose level changes throughout the day. Whereas a Hb1AC test, or hemoglobin A1C test can be ordered by your physician to measure your three-month glucose average.
Steps to prevent prediabetes from turning into diabetes:
- Increase your physical activity
- Eat a healthy diet
- Maintain a healthy weight
